Large Line Size Meters Used for Feedwater and Steam Flow

Cranston, RI, USA, September 16, 2014 – Primary Flow Signal (PFS), the leading designer and manufacturer of innovative, durable, and accurate flow-metering solutions for oil and gas, water/wastewater, and industrial applications, announces the delivery of a 54” and a 30” Halmi Venturi Tube for the 45MWe Alasehir geothermal power plant project in Turkey.

Previously, PFS has supplied Halmi Venturi Tubes to three power plants in the region that are integral for the measurement of feedwater and steam flows at these facilities. The projects include:

  • Germencik II & III – a 47.4MWe dual-flash geothermal plan. PFS supplied a 54” & 36” Halmi Venturi Tube for feedwater and steam flow measurement On this project,PFS partnered with Guris Construction and Engineering, Co. Inc.
  • Kizildere II – the largest geothermal project in Turkey, the plant produces 60MWe and provides hot water for the surrounding community. PFS supplied a 54” & 36” Halmi Venturi Tube for feedwater and steam flow measurement. On this project, PFS partnered with the Zorlu Energy Group.

The Halmi Venturi Tube is a proven, reliable, and accurate flow metering technology for continuous pressurized gas, liquid, or steam line fluids. As the most thoroughly performance-substantiated flow measurement product in the world today, the Halmi Venturi Tube improves on the Classical Venturi in cost and accuracy for measuring with no downstream installation effect and minimal upstream effect.

The Halmi Venturi Tube has linear standard discharge coefficient of 0.99 (from approximately 75,000 pipe Reynolds number and above) and standard accuracy of ±0.50% (2 Sigma).

Halmi Venturi Tubes are available prefabricated or cast-in-place in a variety of materials, shapes, and sizes; as single- or bi-directional flow meters. The tubes have no annular chambers, thereby eliminating plugging, which is particularly important when measuring solids-bearing media.
